Summer is great but let’s face it, autumn is much better. 

Here at Culley’s we have plenty for you to look forward to. From new events to our ever popular Sunday roast, here are 10 reasons to pay us a visit this autumn:

1. Culley’s Sunday Lunch.

Nothing says ‘Autumn is here’ like a good old fashioned hearty roast! If you’ve not tried our famous platters yet, what are you waiting for?! Our Sunday roast platter features roast chicken, braised beef, roasties, pigs in blankets, seasonal veg, loads of gravy and of course, YORKIES! what more do you need?!

Not a fan of the roast? We have a large selection of other dishes and a children’s menu to keep all your family satisfied. Be warned, though, Sundays fill up fast! So get your bookings in early!

2. Wine Tasting Evenings.

New this autumn, we’re introducing fortnightly wine tasting evenings supported by our wine suppler Tanners. The first tasting coincides with ‘World Merlot Day’ and we’ll explore Merlots from around the world.

Our second tasting, ‘there’s more to Beaujolais than nouveau’ takes a look at different wines from the Beaujolais region and much better alternatives.

Each guest will receive five small glasses of wine, each being accompanied by a specially paired canapé.

3. Autumnal Themed Cocktails.

Pumpkin spice and all things nice – Autumn is all about warming spices, dark fruits and creamy indulgence. Alongside our classic cocktails, we’re introducing some new seasonal cocktails to our list:

They include:

  • Blackberry Bramble.
  • Spicy Margarita.
  • Plummy Daiquiri.
  • Smoked Maple Old Fashioned.
  • Pumpkin Spiced Martini

There will also be a range of sweet dessert cocktails that you will not want to miss!

Remember – between 12pm and 6pm daily we offer two for £14 on selected cocktails!

4. Pre-Theatre Dining.

If you’re heading to see South Pacific, The Colour Purple or Sister Act at the Wales Millennium Centre this Autumn, make Culley’s the place to go for your pre-theatre dining. 

Enjoy two courses for £18 from our lunch menu which has recently included homemade sourdough pizza, beef and black bean noodles, roast chicken and gnocchi salad, and beetroot and goats cheese risotto to name just a few. We can’t wait to see what delights our chef’s have in store this Autumn.

Not so hungry? Tuck into some nibbles and cocktails instead.

5. Pulled Lamb Crumpet.

This tasty little number was a sell out special recently and we can’t wait to have it back on the menu this Autumn. 

Tender Welsh lamb, warming harissa on a toasted crumpet with a little bit of pomegranate sweetness.

6. Day of the Dead Bottomless Brunch.

This Halloween weekend, we’re given you the perfect opportunity to get dressed up and join us for a Day of the Dead fiesta. 

We’ve got Mexican themed food alongside our usual brunch menu, 90 minutes of bottomless Prosecco OR beer, live entertainment, themed cocktails and decorations to get you in the mood for a night of trick or treating adult style.

7. Drinks & Nibbles.

Autumn is the perfect time to share a bottle of wine with friends and enjoy our large selection of tapas style nibbles. There’s even a range of sweet desserts nibbles that are perfect for sharing.

We’re looking forward to tasting the cheesy black bomber, chive & potato bites and the sticky piri piri chicken wings, all new to the menu this September.

Nibbles are also available every day with lunch or dinner.

8. Beaujolais Day at The Coal Exchange


Once again, the Welsh’s favourite Thursday is returning – Beaujolais Day! The Coal Exchange will be hosting their very own Beaujolais Day Party in the grandeur of the Grand Hall Suite (the perfect setting for relaxing and sipping wine all day). 


You can expect a tasty menu, live entertainment through the day and oh yes, plenty of WINE!


If the party gets too much, retire into our sitting area for a cocktail and calmness.

9. Chef’s Taster Evenings.

Finally the announcement we’ve all been waiting for…IT’S BACK! Once every season our talented team of chefs use their passion for all things food and create a one of a kind taster evening. 

You’ll enjoy canapés and a cocktail on arrival, followed by five courses of seasonal delight with the option to add drinks pairings. 

 We’ll also have live music to set the mood for a fantastic evening of outstanding food and drinks.

10. Autumn Internationals & The Football World Cup

If you are thinking about where to watch all the international sports this Autumn, look no further. We’ll be screening all the Wales rugby & football on our big drop down screen with brand new surround sound speaker system.

Be sure to book your table in advance and enjoy bottomless brunch with prosecco or beer as you watch.
